Post Hello
Hello,

I have been looking around and this site seems great. Full of very useful information. I have not relocated to Turkey yet, but I am trying to gather as much information as I can on living there.

My fiance (he is Turkish) and I have applied for a K-1 visa back in March for him to come and live in the U.S., but because of his previous overstay in the U.S., we had to file a waiver and now are playing the long waiting game. I have visited Turkey three times so far, but am trying to find out if I would actually be able to live there if I had to.

Thanks for letting me introduce myself, and I look forward to searching the many forums that seem to be full of great information.

iyi gunler,

lovebug (Wendy)

Hello Wendy (lovebug),

You'd love it here, everything is so great. Really. Great.

Welcome Wendy. I think you would be able to live here if you had to.

Nevertheless, I suggest you slaughter a big pink goat, during upcoming bayram, and offer it to the K-1 gods.

Welcome, lovebug!

What part of Turkey would you consider relocating to? All the best with the visa saga!

Being such a big lover of Turkey as I am, I would suggest relocating to the airport departure lounge.

Hi burbaco,

I am not sure. My fiance lives on the Asian side of Istanbul (no big surprise there), but there maybe a job opportunity in Ankara (his sister and husband are moving there shortly). Of course, so much is still up in the air. Really too early to tell. I would love to live on the European side of Istanbul, but I wouldn't be able to afford it.

David, are you still living in Turkey? What advice can you give (I am afraid it is advice I really don't want to hear, right?)
