Post Amarillo - the day after...
Oz, Cafucello, Spine, FD - Did you guys go last night? I was there, but as a first-timer I hadn't realized that EVERYONE there would be foreign, and I opted not to disturb each table with fluttering eyelashes asking, "Um, are y'all my new internet associates??"

If you were there, where were you sitting? Which ones were you? I arrived round 10 and left about 1 hr later.

Oh dear! we were there, sitting round a small table at the back of the outside area. Another time? We'll wear hats or something..

Yep, we were there. I actually went to some tables asking if they were "Laura". We found Cafucello okay. Just saw a lost looking Italian bloke and invited him to join us. A good night but I really should try to go home before 3:30 am on a workday.

we were there indeed and had been able to intercept Cafucello on his way in and have been on the look out for you and your posse as well. even to the point that Oz did go and went to disturb one table with girls, only to find rejection.... don't worry he told us he is used to it

some other time?

Don't worry, I will pester all tables at bars in Ankara until I find this Laura. Who knows I might get lucky, if not I might find Laura. 8)

I'm usually easy to spot - tall redhead...we were sitting outside too, but my friends all changed their minds at the last minute and said they couldn't come along because they were too broke, it was just me and my fiance.

Next time perhaps somewhere where we'll actually stand out. Any ideas?

Laura, you said you work on Sunday's. Until when? Because on Sunday a few of us will be in Kizilay at a bar called Chopin (on Inkilap sk... the same street as the Net Piknik bar) between 6 pm and 8pm after which we will go to the footy. Should be easy to spot us there as we will be the silly looking foreign lot wearing Genclerbirligi colours (red and black). Should be easy to spot you too as not too many red heads walk into bars in Kizilay.

I have the most socially inconvenient work schedule ever. I usually don't leave school until about 7:45 on weekend nights and I usually have to get up early. My holiday is coming up soon though so I'll be able to have some later nights.

I'm trying to paint a mental picture of the pub last night, we were also sitting toward the back of the outdoor patio. Coming from the entrance, were you on the left or right? What were the age ranges/nationalities among you? I just think it would hilarious if you were at the table next to mine the whole time...

By the back I mean closest to the actual building, under the awning. We were to the left as you came down the main path from the street, if I remember correctly. Devilishly handsome to a man, we were comparing tans and discussing the stock market. Or if you prefer, we were five mid-30s blokes: one with longish blonde hair. one bald, one with very short hair. Oz is impossible to describe. Our new Italian member has glasses.

That's one of the kindest things someone has said about me for a long time

hmm, we were on the right side. I was a bit skiddish as that was the largest group of foreigners I've been surrounded by since moving here.
