Hello everyone,
I'm Said, a Canadian who just arrived to Istanbul. I'm here to teach at an ISTEK school in Tarabya and living in Ulus.

hey there fellow canuck - where you from in canadia? (i am a flatlander me... YAY roughriders!!! CFL champs.. had to get that in teeehee)
I teach at a high school in uskudar - english lit and esl though.
anyways.. there are a few canadians ... a bunch of us teacherly types on the asian side. if you are up for meeting us sometime, maybe we can organize something

and if you have to shorten it to "Jon", (which isn't preferred!), then it must be pronounced "Jon" and not "John" please.....

Welcome! Hope you are having a good time so far. At least Ist is not as cold as Toronto  I visited Toronto in the summer of 2006, and loved it. Whereabouts in Ulus do you live? I am not too far from Ulus.

excellent - it's been a whilst since i've come across that one - and from a fellow Welshy at that....
(for everyone else, it means something along the lines of....."don't bother to lift your skirt after you've already peed....")
