Post Kathrin from Germany
Hello,
I'll be in Istanbul as of Friday to learn Turkish and do some research. I am 25, German, have been living in Brussels for the past year or so and am looking forward to hopefully meeting some of you soon.

Hi Kathrin

I'm sure you'll find this place slightly manic after Brussels! Whereabouts are you planning to live? Taksim area? It's the most lively for students.

Hi there,
Have been here a couple of times before (and loved it) - yet unfortunately never to the forum. I'll be living in Sisli this time, which I don't know very well at all. So I'll be greatful for any recommendations on where to go and what not to miss in that area. Thanks for making me feel welcome.
Kathrin

Hallo Kathrin,

willkommen zurück in Istanbul.

Don't forget to see the "Deutsche Weihnachtsmarkt" at the German school, this weekend.

Yes, we are planning to go. But You need to be early for the good things (like Christstollen, Saussages etc), after 12.00h most of it will be gone..

the first tip was quite true, but it's the English that you need to be wary of. particularly anyone from Lincoln. They'll steal anything that's not nailed down........
