 Merhabalarrrrrr....
Hi everybody,
Here I am. Introducing myself. Again actually. Don't know what happened to my previous account. Guess it is inactive cuz I have been 'inactive'
Anyway...: I am Anna, a duch girl from Amsterdam. I have been living in Istanbul for about a year and a half now. In Holland I was a social worker. Here I worked as a stewardess for some time and currently as a teamleader in a callcenter. I enjoy my work a lot.
On the side I give English lessons and I volunteer for an organization that helps tourists that have gotten in trouble in Istanbul (name of the organization is IFTAS).
I am a member of the hospitality club which helped me find great friends and build up a social life here in Istanbul.
I live together with my boyfriend on the Asian side.

 Hospitality club....
Hi y'all, thanks so much for your reactions; that's a warm welcome. Info on hospitality club: http://www.hospitalityclub.org You can create a profile and on the forum you can find where all Istanbullian hc'ers meet in the weekend. Usually in taksim to go out but sometimes cute things like festivals or picknick on the island. And about IFTAS: the more volunteers the merrier
Take care.

Hoi Anna!

How about asking the mods to enable that PM function for everyone so newbies can send PMs instead of using the public forum where others will demand English translations?

To echo Starmans reply, no. The threshold is there for a reason.
And Siduri - please post in English, the official forum language.

"The threshold is there for a reason. "
It would be interesting to learn the those reasons. Apparantly for some reasons this forum is the only one I know who doesn't allow newbies to use PM functions, not that I use that many internet forums, so I might be clueless.
Also I don't see any harm done if I post a reply to someone who has the same native tongue than I have. In a forum where people clearly have different nationalities and backgrounds and where many people know each other personally there should be a level of trust that posters don't use other languages to pass on secret messages or bash others.

There are perfectly good reasons and the main one being is that is the way we decided to do it from past experience of people abusing the facility.

You are, by your own implication, clueless. Many online forums restrict privileges available to new members for a variety of reasons. Try using the forum search facility if you want to know about something, that's what it is there for.

I don't speak Dutch, Albanian, Mandarin Chinese or whatever the fcuk they speak in Fiji; thats is a good enough reason for the forums official (and only) language being English. If I don't know what you (or anyone else for that matter) are saying then I will automatically assume it is breaking forum policy and, depending on my mood, do anything from post a warning through to deleting your account immediately. Trust is a manufacturer of computer peripherals...
You can also take this post as a reply to your other whinging post in the feedback forum and I'll also echo Geoff's reply to you; if you don't like the way we do things about here, please feel free to use the *other* forum.
