Post Missed the train
Hi everybody,
seems to be I missed the train. I'm here already over 15 months but learned about this forum only recently. I'm from Berlin/Germany and work at the airport as technical advisor. Before coming to IST I have been in Costa Rica and Malaysia for some time. Different to Turkey. During my time here I made some nice trips by car to most of the archeological sites in Anatolya and enjoyed what I have seen and the people. Unfortunately I have a weak point on carpets and bought without needing any, but enjoy very much looking at them every day. With my other sport like golf and mountainbiking I was not very lucky, not too many possibilities in ISt area. Now I'm living in a couple of months but hope I can still make good use of this forum.
I'll read regularely whats going on and hopefully meet you guys one day.

Willkommen Profi 1

well there are some nice mountainbike routes around Istanbul it all depends on your expectations
- I mean if you really like the mountain-mountainbiking thats a bit problematic -sure, simply because there are no real mountains around Istanbul.

At which archeological places have you been yet?

Post Prof1 trips
Hi Nadja.
I made my trips by car and tried to see most of the places starting from Troya down to Antalya. To be a bit more specific and to name the most important ones ( for me): Troya, Assos, Pergamon, Ephesus(Virgin Mary's house incl), Aphrodisias , Caunus, Xanthos, Olympos. On these trips I visited the well know places like Pamukkale, Bodrum, Marmaris and - most impressive Kapadokya incl Underground city. Very nice trip, very friendly people, unfortunately too many carpet shops :).
But havn't found the magic carpet airport.
Too hot now for biking, but will start again when it's getting cooler.
Bye Prof1
