Post Morning All
Hi all

I have been in Istanbul a few months but have been very slack at getting organized. I live in Levent, work with Jonathan and have met a few of you already. Love the city. Hope I am not too late to sign up for this Friday's festivities.

Look forward to getting to know you.

Dom

Well done on finally getting signed up! I am sure we can wangle you in on Friday.

By the way, you have to be careful about the use of "Jonathan" on this site. There are 2 real Jonathans and 1 fake Jonathan. One real Jonathan is actually a monkey, and the other (me) is some sort of superstar.

The fake Jonathan is particularly dangerous. He calls himself Jonathan but is actually a German demagogue, structural engineer, environmentalist, club-promoter and part-time masochist/marathan coach. Watch out for him as he particularly likes to illicit more information out of new members by making controversial statements.

I am glad you love the city (take note Simpson).

Welcome and enjoy.

Welcome Dominic! Notice you're falling in love very easily. In case you have written a love poem to the city already I would LOVE to read it.

Cheers chaps JC gave me specs on arrival and assured me they were standard issue.
They must be quite powerful as so far they have put a pleasant aspect on four car accidents and a couple of dog bites. Dogs and cars being two things I have grown paticularly wary of - though masocist, enviormentalist, club promoting, engineers may be a new addition.

Welcome Dominic,

enjoy the City and have fun.

Actually, we a have a fourth Jonathan who signed up propbably 5 weeks ago: Johnny. I don't think it would be easy to say which of the Jonathans is more dangerous. But it is by now probably the most common name on the forum.

See you around.

Post HELLO DOMINIC!
Already "a conquerer of hearts", I see.

Ladies and gentleman this fine man is a true gentleman. And has been here more than a few months, I think it is at least 4.

Welcome again Dominic :)

Hi Dominic. Welcome to EiT. I lost my rose-tinted Silhouette shades but I replaced it with a tawny-pink coloured beverage with miniscule bubbles complimented with a bouquet of wild strawberries. :D Krug Rosé with its fragrant aroma and mellow, tasty notes of berries, hints of spices and a particular delicacy is a good substitute for Istanbul today. On certain days, it's not enough coz' I miss my friends there and Anjelique.

Enjoy the city I adore. I've loved since my first visit in 2000. I'm skipping it this summer (first time I'm not setting foot there in 7 consecutive years) but I'll be back for sure and get over my nostalgia for the 'Bul.

and I thought I get the grip of a whole thread in the end and now here you are confusing me! :?

Please Alicia, help me understand is this a type of language used in Beverly Hills? I mean honestly. Reads like an editorial from a lifestyle mag! :)

I would have thought if you wanted a smell or taste to encapsulate Istanbul 'Eau du Orient' would be a mixture of fish, a hint of dry exhaust fumes and every so often a powerful wave of raw sewage or stale urine.
