Post Moving to Istanbul
Hi Everybody

I am moving to Istanbul due to my job and for a start I am looking for a language school to improve my basic language skills. I am from germany and I already love the city. I still have to get used to the size, but sooner or later I bet I will. :D
Hope to meet nice people and feel at home quickly.

Greetz Jan

Welcome Jan. Loving the city before actually coming here is the best you can possibly do. Things might change once you're here. Don't forget to bring a Turkish flag (they are currently out of stock here).

Oh my dear Uta! I should read this site more often - you always give me such a great laugh. ;) We must have been doing the same thing last Sunday.
And you're an expat drunk now, eh? A big congrats!
Welcome to Istanbul Jan!

Oh last Sunday was fantastic! Red is a fantastic colour! And there are so many funny things that can be done with flags, you won't believe it!

Being an expat drunk certainly helps to make this amazingly beautiful treeless concrete city full of moderate not-at-all-nationalistic people even more beautiful! (Please don't ask me how I like Istanbul at the moment.) Tonight at Taps cannot come soon enough...

Welcome Jan, I am sure you will love Istanbul very much.

(and yes do bring your own Turkish flag with you, probably won't get a visa without one next to you at customs)

Welcome Jan.

Is your move temporary? Wish you luck and enjoy your time in Ist.

Its good not to limit your options. 1 day or 100 years. Time is so overrated anyway.

Hi,

I used to live in the US for the past 12 years and moved back to Turkey a couple of months ago. I am well traveled, speak 5 languages (Sp, Fre, Eng, Ger and Tur) and would be interested in meeting with other expats. Originally I am from Turkey but am very much used to being with foreigners.
