 New to Turkey
Hi all,
I am new to Turkey, Adana actually. Love the food and of course the people. I have been travelling here for 5 years and my wife and I decided to stay. We are from the US and looking for a place other than the American Bazaar to but things like Nacho chips and other grocery items that we miss. I am 36 and retired, also looking for things to do, other than travel, which we do a lot of. Going to Prague next week, and Moscow next month. Any hints on where to get American food in Turkey or travel tips to the countries I mentioned would be gratly apprecaited.

Welcome to Turkey mcc. Plenty of McDonalds around if you want American food. There is another Yank in Adana (not a soldier) who has a blog you might want to check out. http://jakedolson.com/blog/

thanks I checked out the blog. I didn't see anyway to cotact this fellow though. He seems to be a bit more assimilated than me, I would love to know how he did it. I appreciate the help.

mcc,
Welcome to the community. I wish you luck on the search for anything edible from the states. Please keep me posted on your finds. We (family & I) should be relocating to Mersin late spring to early summer this year. I've created a long list of goodies I plan on stashing away, Chicago style Hot Dogs and a pizza from Gino's East, are priority items. You know; In Case of Emergency - Break Glass kind of stuff.
What brought you to Adana by BTW? Adana and retirement community aren't used in the same sentence that often.
Good luck and I hope to meet you in the coming months.

Thanks to Lucie and Batgirl for Prague ideas. I think the thing I miss most living in Adana is the fact that Starbucks doesn't exist here. Some call it a blessing ( my wife), I call it a curse. Look forward to getting to know you all a little better.
