 Pablos is descending on Istanbul
Hi there
I'm moving to Istanbul from London at the start of September to work for a law firm. I have never been to Turkey and have no idea what to expect but I do know it's going to be fun.
I suppose I should explain a little about myself. I'm 30 years old (but have been known to behave more like a teenager) and do the usual things in my spare time, go to restaurants, bars, clubs and try to play sport wherever possible.
I'm looking forward to exploring the city and checking out the sites etc. If anyone is up for meeting up and going out / exploring then please drop me a line.
Not the best introduction in the world. If you need any more info then get in touch.
Hope to speak to you soon.
Pablos.

Hey Pablos- as a fellow lawyer I give you one tip: AVOID DAVID SIMPSON.
You will find plenty of activities to amuse you here; in particular if you like running or football there are regular weekly activities. There is also cinema trips, restaurant meet ups, boat trips, extreme sports excursions, going to gigs, and plenty of pontification and banter. Enjoy.

Sorry David, that is a cardinal sin indeed.

Welcome Pablos,
do you know anybody here? Finding the right place to live in Istanbul will be the most imoportant thing for you at the start.
There are 3 fractions here on the site, supporting maibly the following neighbourhoods:
If you have a choice you will want to live
- on the asian side in Moda or
- on the Europwean side in Cihangir or
- or on the European side along the Bosporus between Ortaköy and Yeniköy
And here is your task for this week: Find out from the various posts on this website, what the various advantages/disadvantages are for the above.

Uta,
I am not used to doing the hard work myself, only giving instructions.
Starsheet,
I don't know what it is with Germans and spreadsheets? What do you think?

I can add myself as another lawyer although am trying to leave the profession after too many years in it.
Hey JC - I will take a wild stab in the dark as to which firm you work for - DWS? One of my good buddies from HK is partner in Oman - OJ.
Looking forward to catching up sometime.
