 seems like a nice place
Well this is a new experience. Let me say very quickly 'hello' or even 'merheba' to anyone who's interested. Why am I here? (Don't worry I'm not going that deep.) I've joined because this seemed a nice place to gain some new friends, hopefully get some good advice and in turn give a lot, in return.
My story is a simple one. I am planning to move to Turkey because I love the people and I love the scenery. I was invited to visit by a very good friend after I lost my job last year. I just fell in love with the place and met some really nice people. Unfortunately, my plans to move to Turkey have been delayed somewhat. What I would like is to find some people in and around the Kas area who can advise and help me with accommodation. I had originally been offered a caretaker role (unpaid) but live in, rent free. I would have been looking after 8 apartments in a complex with sea views. Ideal for me. Unfortunately this fell through. I think there must be other complexes around, particularly on the Kas Peninsular that may be looking for someone like me! So good people, if you can please keep an ear open for any opportunities like this, then please let me know. One way or another I will be in Turkey some time this year. Thanks for reading this and sorry if I went on a bit.

 Maybe it's because..
I'm a Londoner originally. Have been living in Bedford/Bedfordshire for past 20 odd years

Welcome Ronnie, what about the past 20 even years?
I would imagine there will be lots of potential employers wanting someone who'll work for free. If I offer you an apartment in Bayrampasa would you work for me?

Hello Mr Snob! Thanks for your welcome. It was good of you to 'offer' me a job in Bayrampasa. My thoughts are; 1) ideally I want to be in the Kas/Kalkan/Filike area of Turkey and 2) what sort of job is on'offer'? I hadn't considered living and working in Istanbul. Once again thanks for thinking of me.
Oh, and those 20 odd years....there were no evens!
Also, thanks to all those who have welcomed me, so far, to this interesting site.

Hi Verjen
Thanks for your welcome. I suppose I just want to get over there and will consider any worthwhile occupation from sales to cleaning apartments, managing small complexes, cleaning pools, business solution selling, cold calling, painting and decorating, answering the phone, going to get groceries, ironing etc. You see I'm multi talented. Wherever I end up in Turkey I know I will earn some 'spondoolicks'. Oh, I'm also able to teach English (TEFL) and my partner is TESOL and TEFL trained. If I was able to work in return for free accommodation then that would be ideal.
I think you are right. Someone will read this and contact me whether they can help now or, in a few months and I very much look forward to hearing from anyone who wants to hire me or even just to say hello and keep in contact.
C'mon peeps 'let's be havin' yer'.
Once settled I will also get involved with some charity work or give something back to the community.
