Post Time goes by...
Hello Everyone,

I am actually not exactly new to Istanbul. I found this site early last year just before moving to Istanbul from New York City. I am not even sure if I posted anything. Anyway, I decided to sign up again and see what's happening on the expat side of Istanbul.

I am French (don't ever use that against me...) and Turkish. So a genuine "chocolat-vanille" flavor.

Me and my wife have moved back to Turkey after 6 years (for me) and 13 years (for her) spent in NYC.

Since I spent a number of years of my life in France and Germany with a childhood in Turkey, I wonder which country I am truly expatriated from...

Folks, I hear there's going to be a boat tour soon. I would be delighted to get further details and hopefully get to meet some of you soon.

I run the local sub of a U.S. company (http://www.securities.com) which some of you have already heard about.

Cheers,
Kerim Alain Bertrand

Hi Kerim and welcome to the site.

I am afraid you are a bit late: the boat tour was on Saturday. I am sure you didn't miss much! Have a look around and you might find some photographic evidence.

Don't worry, there are more social events coming up.

Hope to see you around.

[quote user="kerimab" post="98289"]Hello Everyone,

I'm afraid that to be a member on this forum you have to have a thick skin regarding this sort of thing. I wish I had a lira for every time someone attacked my "Aussieness". As for the Germans on this forum they would be millionaires under such a system. As for the lawyers, billionaires... er ... they already are.

Welcome to the forum mate.

Oh please, we love the Aussies, the French, the Germans and Lawyers. I can't think of a single bad word or joke to say about any of them.

Well, there was an Aussie, a Frenchman, a German and a Lawyer on a sinking boat, eventually the boat sank and no one survived. There was also a Welshman, but no one really cared.
