Post hi ...
Hi to you all,

I landed in Istanbul three weeks ago, and recently heard about this forum. So here's my introduction:

I'm a law student from Copenhagen, Denmark, now living in Gümüssuyu. I work parttime at a law office in Taksim and try at the same time to write my master's thesis.

I'm generally interested in sports and would like to get involved in some, primarily football and basketball. Except from that I plan to enjoy the much better climate around here even though it has been a little bit disappointing the last couple of days and all the little differences in another country.

Previously I lived 6 months in Berlin so I'm also able to make myself understandable in German.

Hope to meet some of you,

Peter

Welcome, Peter, to Istanbul and the forum.
I hope you enjoy yourself and manage to meet up with the other sporty people here.
Don't worry about the weather - you'll soon see the difference!

Gece (and others), I'll join you for football on saturday. Could you however provide me with some more details? What's the address and are you playing on grass? And is there a ferry sailing to Moda from Kabatas?

Peter please sign-up for the footy here: http://forum.expatinturkey.com/viewtopic.php?t=4175

The ferries run from Kabatas to Kadikoy from where it's a 15 minute walk but they don't run on weekends. Instead you'll need to get the Besiktas - Kadikoy ferry which runs at quarter past and quarter to the hour. There'll be a bunch of footy players on it so sign-up in the thread mentioned above and we'll get someone to show you the way.

Mind you if you've ever watched Arikan play you might change your opinion.
