Following this thread has made me think back to when I first saw EiT and after watching for a while, registered and wrote my intro. The first reply was;
I don't think this is the place for you.
This forum is for people with a stick up their ass, but you are free to roam if that pleases you.
Welcome.
Instead of running away, I decided to stay and (try to) give as good as I got because it was infinitely more entertaining than any of the other shite around on the internet (but we have facebook now don't we?

). When I then got the opportunity to come up and meet the group - which was particularly daunting as I was on my todd - I found that, as has already been pointed out in this thread, all the forum nonsense was put to one side so that everyone could concentrate on the significantly more important business of drinking and talking bollokcs face to face. Though I don't get up to join in as often as I'd like, I've made some good friends via the forum and wish I'd had access to a similar network when I lived up there.
I digress.
Sadly, the days of spitting tea all over my lap top are fewer than before due to the absence of a certain few and yeah, it gets a bit rough at times but all members have the perfect opportunity to make their own mark with their own style so if you care enough to write here, make the effort to add to the real content of the forum and if you don't like the response you get from some, just ignore it. Let's be honest, we're an odd bunch from all walks of life, the chances of everyone interpretting and reacting to the same topics the same way are - and should be - pretty slim. Isn't that what makes it more interesting? I reckon the admins do a good job of grabbing the reigns when absolutely necessary so why can't we get back to concentrating on improving the general quality content rather than blethering on like a bunch of old women?
