 How to load a wmv or movie file onto the forum I've just watched this awesome trailer for the cartoon Happy Feet and wanted to share it with the rest of you .. but I cant figure out how to upload it
Admins/Mods any suggestions?

it will only work for Flash [.swf] movies ... below is an example of the BBCode to use. replace the url after src= with the one of your movie, also don't forget to set the correct width and height.

direct questions will merit direct answers. if you didn't understand the answer given then be smart and ask follow-up questions seeking for clarification on parts of the answer you did not understand. saying things like ' I didnt understand a word...' or ' That's as clear as mud' is perceived by me as non-constructive and as a lack of willingness to understand therefore not deserving of an answer.

send me a PM with the link (url) and i'll post the code in this thread, permitted the trailer is a shockwave flash movie [.swf]
You'll then be able to 'Shift-Copy-Paste' it into a new message. If the trailer is not a Flash [.swf] movie then your only option would be to place the link (url) of the movie in your message for others to click on to be shown the trailer on the Web site hosting it.

FD - That's as clear as mud speaks for itself surely but if you want me to be specific ; I don't understand any of what was previously said by you with regard to the uploading of WMV files.
Is it possible to have an explanation in real english without the use of acronyms and technical jargon, which I and many other people can't understand.

I get it! You find a Shockwave Flash movie that ends in .swf, located on a website, then type out the code FD supplied, substitute the web address he wrote after src= with yours. Then you set the movie dimensions (I presume the ones in the code are the correct ones?). I presume it will then be visible in the post. If it's not a .swf file then you copy/paste the web address into the post as we normally do and forget the code.
Or maybe I'm wrong?

Nope, you're bang on. You set the dimensions for the movie you are embedding.
