A friend has been trying to sign up and is having lots of problems and, basically, can't get signed up.

as with every support request it is helpful to quantify the problem; saying simply one can't get signed up gives us little to go by.
meanwhile i have checked the member database and a new record with username 'suecrann' was found and had been activated by the user.

the most likely reason therefore is: your friend entered an incorrect username or password (check the email[sup]*[/sup] you were sent when you first registered)
if you have lost your password, don't panic! while your password cannot be retrieved it can be reset. to do this go to the login page and click I've forgotten my password. Follow the instructions and you should be back online in no time.
