I noticed that my avatar was deleted...
i'd like to know why... was it offensive ? (:shock:)
was it above the max size ?
was it because it was a png ?
...
thus i will be able to upload a proper one

none of the above really. looking at the date you joined ExpatinTurkey.com i got a pretty good idea as to what had happened. at the time you joined we were readying ourselves to move the website to a new server! to do so we've grabbed a copy of all files in our webspace and moved them across to the new server. i think you can guess what happened by now can't you? by the time we had finished copying the thousands of files you had uploaded your avatar-image file. and that's why it simply didn't get copied across to the new server!

since your post i have noticed also two image files from the photo album that hadn't been included in the backup. now i have copied all three files from the old server to the new and as you will notice your avatar has reappeared. sorry for any confusion and inconvenience caused but i'd say 3 files out of 5,000+ files [0.06%] is still pretty good going as far as i'm concerned.
