 Too much protection?
Hello,
I received a message from Charly about the party. However I was unable to reply because I have not reached a quota for being allowed to post replies or something. And the message went on: any spam attmept will be punished, your account will be disactivated or something...I don't understand why you are so protective...I would have like to be able to reply...but I am not really into just writing messages in order fill the posting quotas...sorry...

It's a measure to stop people from spamming and annoying other members - they often get banned anyway!
The admins have to put a certain degree of protection in place to make life easier. That's all. It often causes confusion but unfortunately it's necessary.
In the meantime, you can use the email facility.

Zippy, the measures were put in place to stop the harassment many of our female (and male sometimes) members were receiving from new members.
Since we implemented the Personal Message threshold, this has been reduced to almost zero.
It is an unfortunate, but necessary action. You can read more about the reasons etc in other threads within section.
In the interim, you can use email to establish contact with other members.
