Post hey boys
and girls... I think u go too far... this is just an internet forum, not the REAL life?

If needed I can come and put u 2 in round room, and I wont let u our before u solve this SMALL issue about writing?

I could understand it if the text itself would be annoying, but CAPS or not, what does it matter in real life? If u get excited, wont ur voice get higher, u tend to volume up ur speach and so on? This is what happened to Dekolte I guess... anyway, turkish are much better than we damn europeans to show their real feeling!

Ugh, I have spoken!

Wow, look at this, this is what it came to? My god, I think this is one little skirmish that could use a good hosing down with cold water. Everyone's right in their own special way, everyone's wrong in their own special way, there was a fight, some blood was spilled, no worries, the janitor will clean it up. Go back to your corners and do whatever it was you were doing before you started doing this -- whatever it was, it was certainly a better use of your time and energy than this!

Thank god. I was too busy to reply any more, plus I hate repeating myself.
So noone got banned then, noone has left and there is to be no revolution? Not a bad day.

Excellent source of info, StarGenius! I've been on the net since nearly the beginning (well, early 90's anyhow) but some of the vocab has sped past me, and it was a good refresher course!

An aside: I tend to make it a habit to press "review" before "submit" just to check over my post since I type faster than I can think! It's saved me many a time! ;)

Jeeezz... go offline for a few days and all hell breaks loose.

My view is the same as FD's, if you don't like it here there is always the "back" button.

To cover a few points raised in this thread:

Basic netiquette - if you don't stick to it you will get booted. If you don't know it, go read. It is so basic we haven't even bothered to put it in the forum rules.

Deletion of posts and censorship - we don't do it unless there is a valid reason. If there is a valid reason, expect to see your post either disappear or be edited. If it is edited, there will normally be a reason detailed in the amended post. If it is deleted, you *may* receive a PM telling you why, if we have time.

Rebels - we don't have any, at least not for long.

JC - ethnographic? Are you acting as an observer then, as opposed to participating?

Simonb - it's easy to sling insults, but it takes a big man to publicly apologise if he feels he needs to.

Gilly - is that a wee voice of reason I hear there...!

Bottom line - EiT will trundle on irrespective of who is here. It is a community, not somewhere focused around one, or two, individual's feelings or perspectives. If an action by Admins or Mods upsets you... get over it. We do not do anything without good reason; mainly because we do not have the time to indulge in petty campaigns or such like. We've all (Admins, Mods and members) worked bloody hard to get this forum the way it is and we intend to keep it that way. If you don't like it, as has been mentioned previously, there is always the "back" button.

In addition to John's words, if you feel that your rights are being abused, then try one or two of the other Turkey forum sites. I can guarantee that you'll last less than a week, if you try posting something that contradicts the opinion of a moderator or if you try posting something that could be a discussion point.

I know.... cause I only lasted 3 days! I posted something that would have opened a discussion about Ataturk and his role at Canakale. On here it could have been an interesting debate; there, both my post and account were deleted.
