To keep this forum ticking over as it should, ExpatinTurkey.com does not allow remote avatars i.e. jpg, png or gif images, that are stored on a server other than that of expatinturkey.com! It seriously slows down the forum!!!!!

Waiting for those images to be retrieved from remote servers where 9 out of 10 times these retrievals fail, because the remote server is not responding, makes for an irritating forum! We have ample space on our own server to host users' avatars. Thus the alternative is that users upload their avatar instead; with a limit of 10 K per each users' avatar.

To Upload Avatar from your machine do the following:

- make sure you are logged in;
- click the User Control Panel link at top of the forum page
- on your User Control Panel page, click on the 'Profile' option on the left [second item within options]
- click on 'Edit avatar'
- hit the 'Browse' -button next to where it says: 'Upload from your machine'
- locate the file [picture] you would like to assign as your avatar, select it and click the 'Open' button
- now click the Submit button -- Done!

Failing to follow above mentioned steps send an email to info [at] expatinturkey [dot] com stating your user name and attaching the picture file.

NOTE: due to size-limitations the dimensions of your picture should be 100 x 100 pixels maximum and its file-size need be no bigger than 10Kb (10240 bytes)
