although we are unsure at the time of writing this, we believe that our hosting provider has suffered some problems with their servers including one our database for this forum is stored on. earlier our hosting provider had let us known they experienced a partial network outage on 7/2/2006 for approximately one hour during which access to some websites was not possible from certain ISPs and networks. but it has seemed that expatinturkey.com had been unaffected by this.

it was only when i noticed a short interruption in service between 10:50 and 10:55 pm while reading some forum posts made today, to realise that when returning to the forum index page i was looking at yesterday's data. this leads me to believe that a fault has occurred on the database server and a previous backup has been restored, replacing our most current database. However we will need to contact our hosting provider tomorrow to find out as to exactly what happened.

to conclude: all posts made between approx. 01:00 am and above mentioned time 10:55 pm may have been lost given that even though our host makes daily back-ups, so do we (to be sure, to be sure) however ours was not scheduled to start until 00:00 hours! talk about bad luck

although this issue was outside of our direct control we apologise for any inconvenience caused by this.
