 Cars
Has anyone seen the movie Cars, some sort of animated film. I Haven't taken our little one (2 and a half years old) to the cinema yet and thought this might be one to take him along to. Any thoughts? Appropriate film? Is he too young to take to the cinema?

Hi OzKanka,
I saw this film in America when it came out in June with my 4-year-old nephew.
I thought it was highly imaginative and thoroughly enjoyed it. Are you thinking of watching it with Turkish dubbing? The voices in the original are great (Paul Newman, Owen Wilson, Larry the Cable Guy, Cheech Marin, etc.) and of course the Turkish voiceovers, in my humble opinion, would be disappointing. How can anyone emulate Cheech Marin, for the love of Pete? Also, the Southen drawl of Mater the tow truck (as in Towmater, get it?) will be hard to re-create in Turkish.
As for your little OzKanka being old enough to see it, that'll highly depends on his mood that day, won't it? There's nothing frightening about the movie that I can recall (except for maybe the chase scene with a tractor/combine). I think he'll like it overall but wouldn't be surprised if he gets squirmy, the film is longish for little ones at 124 minutes.
If you can find it in the original English, go to it for your enjoyment alone & hope he likes it as well. Here in Istanbul we've checked a few places and they've only got the 'dublaj'. With 'dublaj' your little guy will still hopefully like it, but I'm guessing you won't enjoy it as much.
