Yes it's back again and 5 years old, and I am going to try and take it seriously this time.

Highlights for me (will try and make as many of these as possible):
*Friday 13 21:30- the wind the shakes the barley: Ken Loach, Ireland with a eye to Iraq, Winner of this years Palme d'or.
*Saturday 14
11.00- Grizzly Man: Werner Hertzog documentary about a man who thinks he can live with grizzly bears and comes to a grizzzly end.
21:30 and 24:00 Fast food Nation and A Scanner Darkly: 2 movies from that great man Richard Linklater again. A scanner darkly is shot using the animation techniques of Waking Life.
*Sunday 15:
11:00 the cave of the Yellow dog- learn about life on the lush but barren plateaus of Mongolia.
19:00 Free Zone- Natalie Portman in a tax/duty free haven in Jerusalem, with mysterious disappearance.
*Monday 16 21:30 Transylvania- learn about life and love in passionate Romania (favourite holiday destination of EiT's Starman)
*Tuesday 17 21:30 the Banquet- lush Chinese historical epic from a guy who helped with action scened in the matrix and crouching tiger, hidden dragon.
*Wednesday 18 (have to sneak out of work early to catch) 19:00 Leonard Cohen: I'm your man. Including contributuions from Jarvis Cocker and Nick Cave. The film apparently delves into the life as well as the music of the mournful bhuddist poet.
*Thursday 19 21:30 I love you Paris. Je t'aime snippets of different quartiers of the great city with cuts from directors such as the cohen brothers, grand nez depardieu, and gus van saint and brief performances from marianne faithfull, buschemi, binoche, bob hoskins? elijah wood, rufus sewell and natalie portman.

If anyone fancies going to any of the above please let me know as it would be a pleasure to meet up for a quick bite to eat or a post-film beer.
