Post Films to see?
For the last 6 months I have been living in a parallel universe (motherhood) and have been so preoccupied with my dear son that I have no idea what films I have missed. Now he's sleeping through the night I have some time on my hands in the evening. So what films from the last six months would you recommend?

The holiday was a good chick flick (but my hubby liked it, too)
we also found a great movie at the store called Pursuit of happiness with Will Smith....really great!

Congrats on the sleeping though the night....It took my son a year to get his schedule right with mine. :)

I'd recommend "the Big White with Robin Williams, Holly Hunter and Woody Harrelson. A reviewer on imdb called it "depressingly funny". I loved that comment because it's totally true

I liked "Click". It was funny and sad in some parts. I even cried

"Night at the museum" is really entertaining. Again, a comedy.

I can't recommend any serious movies that I really liked just yet, because there are very few. "Requiem for a dream" has been mentioned. It's a cool one, but takes a strong person to watch it. Psychodelic to say the least. I loved it.

It's on in both languages. Check the local listings.

Thanks for your suggestions. I can't believe how out of touch I am, I haven't heard of any of them apart from RSA's suggestions.

Post Little Children
Little Children with Kate Winslet, Patrick Wilson, and Jennifer Connelly is impressive. Has anyone seen this yet? It's incredibly thought-provoking, especially if you're in a long-term relationship. Wouldn't call it a "feel good film", but it's well worth seeing. Only caveat- be prepared for an intense 2+ hours.

BTW, jellyfish if you're ever looking for film reviews, check out http://www.rottentomatoes.com. Great resource!

Babel seriously sucked, in my opinion.

40 year old virgin had a few laughs, and was different.
The best i have seen in the past couple of months on DVD were "The Prestige", "DeJavu", "The Island"
"Wedding Crashers" was pretty funny

Some of my older favorites were:
American History X
The Usual Suspects
Catch me if you can
