I guess this is the right place for this topic.
I decided to post this because I will have my first production meeting in two hours. It is a volunteer PA position. We all have to start from somewhere right?
Also even better news is I got my goverment loan for school approved. I got enough dough to take care of the tuition and some of my living expenses without having to spend from my savings. So all I need is a part time job. School starts in September. I talked to the dean of the school he thankfully confirmed my gut feeling by telling me I don't need to go school for another 4 years. Their 12 month film certificate program is more than enough he said. The fact Ryserson has a very reputable film program titilates me even more.
At the moment things are looking up. So wish me luck.
Regards,
DAI

good luck! as a part-time grad student and full-time teacher, i know how challenging it can be to work and study at the same time here's hoping you find a great PT job (with an understanding boss) to go with the PA position & film studies!

Good luck, glad it's coming together for you. Don't forget to think about the UGC sites I told you about, you never know what may come of it!

I am on the set right now.
Have the honorable role of PA in charge of kraft services. Meaning I feed people on the set. Getting really good with scrambled eggs.
These guys are nuts. The equipment we hauled in for a 14 min short film was astounding. I had a 16 hour day on Sunday and a 14 hour one yesterday will do another 14 hour one today.
Its on 35mm film too. Meaning its on good stuff. These fcukers are serious.
