 Istanbul Tales (Anlat Istanbul)
Just got an interesting DVD today from Multivision of a Turkish film from 2005 called Anlat Istanbul (Istanbul Tales) which is interesting for a Turkish film, slightly apping Pulp Fiction in stlye and some other films with 5 sort of linking stories by five different Turkish directors set in Istanbul (not worked together as smoothly as other attempts). It is slightly controversial as a Turkish state funded film with a liberal use of profanity for a Turkish film. Has English subtitles. It flows nicely and has an interesting sort of view of 'other' nighttime Istanbul with underworld, transexuals, mad women in crumbling Ottoman mansions and a dwarf etc. Has anyone else seen it?
