Post Pirates of Carribean II
It romps along nicely, with good performances by all but didn't feel JD's was as good as the first one neither as the whole film as good as the previous.

The ending though is the worst thing about the film though, which leaves you feeling robbed as you leave the cinema.

It was my first time at G-Mall and aside fro the pricing it was a pleasant experience, especially as they let you buy drinks at the bar and take them into the film.

I loved Jack Sparrow in the first movie and really looking forward to see the second

As for your dissapointment Geoff its normal there are only a few sequels made to this day that trully rock. Most sequels just barely scrap through. Though for a laugh I think POTC II should be ok

The problem is it takes a very long time to get anywhere; and once it's there, it's not that interesting. The whole thing is like an extended first act to the third film (and, for all intents and purposes, it is). There's way too much "Plot," and it does get very confusing very early on in the film. Not that I cared, mind you. I just watched it limp along, waiting for the obligatory action spectacle.

But even the action is not that awesome. Magnificently designed as they are, the crew of the Flying Dutchman are always slightly out of focus, and you never get a truly good look at them. The three-way sword fight overstays its welcome, as does an initially magnificent duel on a mobile giant wheel. The first Kraken attack is interesting, but then we never get a bird's eye view of the attack, and all we see are giant tentacles, flailing around aimlessly, without a true sense of scale. It feels halfbaked.

One final note: the first film's chief failure was the non-existence of a love triangle, this film's chief failure is its introduction.

So, pretty much like me in bed, the film does not fullfil its potential. I will still see the third one, mind you.

Reminded me very much of the 2nd Back to the Future flick; an advert / trailer for the third film.

Arikan - SHUT UP!!

This film was a blast. I watched this film the night before I got on the plane to asia and it was a great way to wind down. Who needs a plot?? Its a family adventure for gods sake. Stop taking it so seriously or I'll fly back and bitchslap you across the Bosphoros.

Exactly my point. There's way too much of it.
