Post Ride em cowboy: Brokeback Mountain
Ye ha! Rodeo! Woah boy! Darling you look great in chaps! and other homoerotic statements.

I'm out (YES I'M OFFICIALLY OUT) to test my hetrosexuality by watching the acclaimed Brokeback Mountain tomorrow night :D And what's more (despite some disparaging comments) I think I'll like it. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is one of my favourite films of all time and the Ice Storm is in the top 10. Ang Lee is a versatile genuis and is one of the best directors of his generation.

So far the lovely Kjenshoej is up for it but i'd REALLY LIKE SOME MALE COMPANY to jack up the testosterone-based tension. Obvious candidates for this are virility's favourite son MONKEY (ug ug?) and smooth scottish love machine GILLY (who has told me this evening that he will probably be at the gym instead).

2 questions:
1. Does anyone know if Brokeback is on at Gmall? (and if so, at what time?- this is a question within a question)
2. Does anyone else want to come? Come on it'll be fun.

She's an absolute star. Especially in the "Learn Turkish" section...

Thanks Ani

Agreed, Ani is beyond kind. :D

Kjen 19:45 or 21:15? Can do either but (if pushed) would probably opt for 21:15.

Anyone else?

You haven't missed much 2005 has been a sad, very sad year.

2006 is not looking that great either. Maybe my judgement is flawed because we don't get a lot of movies down here but going by what we had so far, its bad.

I saw a copy in our local ahem 'independent' DVD shop entitled 'Gay Cowboys.' Pretty much sums it up for me.

It's a great film. (and not just because of Anne Hathaway's jugs which are divine and deserve the proper attention they deserve)

I want to start poll to see how many of the folks who are on the bandwagon of what-a-great-movie-about-gay-love-this-is are actually straight.

Only other explanation I see for people liking this movie besides it really hits very close to home is, they fall the category of intellectuals that love the art for artists bit where they go around talk about how great movies such as Magnolia were without really answering my question as to why it was so great.

Next up for oscars will be a steamy over the hood sodomization with raining frogs in the background.

Using homosexuality as an award bait is getting very old very fast.
What is sick about it? (not being sarcastic...)
all this cheating business is sick... they live fake lives, where their hearts dont belong. that is sick. they are all selfish. and ignorant to everyone including their own kids and wives. they are irresponsible and actually the "supposed" love they have doesnt seem realistic to me... how can people like that really love? what have they each done to each other to gain such a love? just fcuk?think it is not love. it is the longing for what you cannot have. or boys being boys, wanting free of responsibilities and playing with their mates, but by some else means

plus, I hated the first lovemaking scene. didnt see it coming and it wasnt what u expect from cowboys. character builds werent right. sorry.
