The second one was fcuking awesome, and I can't wait for the third one. Venom is one of the villains, and apparently he will be rendered according to his latter-day Todd MacFarlane incarnation. Here's Eddie Brock (Topher Grace) transforming into Venom. If there's anything in this world that's cooler than being a geek, it's my enormous balls.

I can't wait for this either - I was slightly disappointed with XMen 3. When is it released?

I wonder how they will tie up the Harry Osborn/green goblin thing since i heard this will be the last one?

You see, djgardner, there are three reasons why I like you now. Apart from being a Jew and owning a cat that looks exactly like Shmi (our family cat), you also like comics/comic book movies.

X-Men 3 did suck ass. As Harry Truman once said, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Why mess up with a steady franchise by killing/de-powering almost all of your most interesting heroes?

I don't think this flick will be the last one; Toby Macguire, as well as other members of the cast, indicated that they will be willing to return for more during last weekend's San Diego Comic Con. They, as well as Sam Raimi, were contracted for three films, but considering how much of a cash cow this franchise has become for Sony, it's even money that there will be more Spidey flicks in the future(possibly sans Raimi though).

Major Spoiler:
It's been all-but-confirmed that Harry Osborn dons his father's suit (not the craptastic power rangers one from the first film, but a reworked battle armour instead), and that he is one of the main characters to die (along with Aunt May).
I'd love it if they continued - I worry about cast aging, but they seemed to have picked a cast with that in mind.

As for comic books - I have about 2000 shrink wrapped and in storage in my friends attic in Long Island - including Tarzan #5 and Avengers #2.

Want to hear about stupidity? In 1979, When I was 12, I went to a Comic Con with my dad, and he told me I could buy one "expensive" comic as an investment. I saw Avengers #2 in Good condition, and different comic, from a different series - a #1 in Mint condition.

The Avengers #2 was $25, and the other comic, the #1 was $100. I felt bad asking my father to spend $100 on a comic book in 1979, so I bought The Avengers #2., which is now worth about $120 or so.

The other comic was XMen #1.

Oh boy! That's painful even to me.

I have about 2000 comics myself, all neatly stacked at my parents' place in Ankara. Some are quite valuable, but none nearly as major as Avengers #2, mind you. I stopped collecting in 1994, and I opt for just picking up the trade paperbacks a few months after the initial run. I have a few e-comics (DC/Marvel/Dark Horse) that I can mail you if you want.

Gracias :-) I could use the diversion.

Where do you buy these online?

Also - what did you think of the Blade trilogy?

No idea where to get them online; but probably the official Marvel/DC sites?

I was not too happy about the first Blade; it was ok, but nothing to write home about. The second one was awesome. My Man Guillermo knew what he was doing, and the he showed visual mastery of not only the comics, but consummate skill in bringing that world to the screen. The third one was ass-crack on stale rye bread.

I have always liked that "Midnight Sons" line of Marvel heroes from the Seventies, mind you. Blade, Morbius, John Blaze, Hannibal King, Ghost Rider: all have such great potential, though very few live up to it in their comics. Incidentally, the Ghost Rider trailer looks fcuking amazing!

I liked 1, but I think 2 was definitely better. I thought 3 was a cop out, with the whole Dracula thing. And that "night stalker" motif looked more like a frat party and way too PC for a Blade movie. I mean, a blind female computer expert/scientist who is a also a vamprie hunter? Sorry.

I wonder how the Wolverine movie will be - the cast looks excellent, check out IMDB to see. The Storm movie got shot down after Catwoman bombed.

I saw the GR trailer in the theater - it looked incredible. Speaking of Marvel, the one movie that I found disappointing (because I was such a big fan) was Daredevil - I thought Ben Affleck was miscast; they should've used Thomas Jane for that instead of The Punisher (which I also thought was disappointing, although I really like Thomas Jane).

Affleck looked like he put no physical preparation into the role, whereas other who do Marvel movies (Maguire, Jane, Jackman, etc) really made an effort to look more physical.

The cast list at IMDB for Wolverine(or for any film currently in production) is unreliable as anyone can update their records. So far, the only person confirmed is Hugh Jackman.

Here is the teaser poster for the Iron Man film. This is not the final design, but it gives an idea of what the eventual armour will look like. It's directed by Jon "Vegas, baby, Vegas" Favreau. And guess who they confirmed as the chief villain. Mandarin. I've been having geekgasms galore ever since I found out.

As long as I can see James Franco in Spider Man 3 as himself, I will be satisfied. I adore him!
