I managed to get a press box pass and I have to say that from where I was in the basin it was pretty darn exciting. The gentlemen of the press told me that never in their careers of covering football across Europe had they ever experienced such amazingly supportive fans. They really were stunned.
We had one minor incident where on the way to the ground some idiot came up to us and said: 'fcuk you chelsea', amusing considering I probably hate chelsea more than they do. But apart from that there was no trouble. We walked out with the FB fans while the away fans were kept behind until the ground cleared and despite being with my obviously English looking mate, we encountered no trouble. In fact the only sign of anyone throwing their teddy out the pram was Lampard when he got subbed. Did dums.
What doesn't help is when the British press keep printing that the fans were 'hostile', they were just being loud and Turkish. It will only encourage trouble at stamford bridge. Though I pray for a home defeat, maybe it will remind fans that grant is a bit of a tosser.
