the cup winners cup was played for by all the clubs in europe that won their domestic cup comp...ours being the fa cup,,the super cup was then played by the winners of the european cup and the cup winners cup..Liverpool have never won the cup winners cup and never will as the competition has stopped. man u, chelsea and everton are the only english winners i can think of...
question... where do you go when you have failed as a player in europe............ Turkey
yes starman...... 2-0 and 5-0 we beat GS, besiktas actually done us 2-0 at the bridge with fatboy serhan scoring twice.... a turkish team has yet to qualify for the knock out stage of the cl............. cos their are crap....

I get a bit confused with all the different cup winners cups etc. So what did we win after we won big ears here last summer. We played against CSKA Moscow I think in Monaco. We won it in 99/00 as well after we'd won the Uefa cup, I thought that was the cup winners cup?

cup winners cup went when they decided to expand the CL I believe.
Super cup is what the uefa winner and CL winner play for. Bit like the charity shield thing, just a pile of crap no one cares about.

Muppet, just the kind of response I'd expect from a Welsh Chelsea fan. The Charity/Community Shield may not hold the same kudos as the league or Fa Cup but the fact is you have to have won one of the two to get a chance to win it (or get battered at the Millenium Stadium by Liverpool as the case may be). Apply same thinking to Super cup, cup winners cup, world club cup etc...
Which reminds me, people who call the League cup the mickey mouse cup are muppets as well, it is statistically harder to win the league cup as you don't have the possibility of playing someone like Elsemere Port Vauxhall Motors on your way, you know the opponents will be within 3 divisions of you. Just a thought. One that's spot on again mind!

Here is a link showing all the different winners of the English league.
Cant believe Derby county won it a couple of times & Huddersfield town won it 3 times on the bounce

Personally grating to see Sunderland with more league titles than Newcastle.

thx starman. it is very useful link.
based on the web site;
last 15 years and last 15 champions:
Manchester United 8 times
Arsenal 3 times
Chelsea 2 times
Blackburn Rovers 1 time
very exciting league really
Manchester dominates the league basicly.
And i dont see Liverpool anywhere. has 18 titles but not any for the last 16 years. last time you guys saw Liverpool as a champion was 1990. were you big enough the remember that year ? ) this is sad.
actually Liverpool and GS are very smilar. GS waited for 14 years druing the 80's to get a champion title again.

I was working in Canada in 1990 you cheeky twat. so the answer is YES, I do remember it. Now take another look at the whole page dipstick and you will see who has won the league since 1888 (eighteen not nineteen) and there is a few more teams then the 4 that have won it in the Turkish league history which goes to show that Liverpool winning it 18 times is no easy achievement.
