 Nike Run Turkey
Here's somthing that Nike are organising every Sunday at various locations in Istanbul, Ankara and Ismir. I did the Nike Run London last year and as much as I don't like the commerialisation/branding side of it all (sorry Ian), Nike do organise a good event. I've not been to any of these yet, but may try them out in a few weeks.

This is far too healthy for this forum, more importantly meeting from 7-9am on a Sunday, most patrons of this site are still in the pub at this point:
Try this instead

Ranj - this event was launched last year, and there were a few participants from the forum, too. I've run into them (no pun intended) a few times, and it looks fun - once you get over the fact that you are running with about 50 people at an average speed of -5km/h. The Caddebostan route seems to be the best, if only for the seafront running track.

We have seen them, when we went out early, in all 3 places.
Our little group, which is now officially called the "Arnavutköy Running Mafia" (ARM) often runs on the Saturday mornings in Belgrade Forest, sometimes in Caddebostan. On Sundays, when training for specific runs you can also see us in Bebek, as on Tuesdays/Thursday mornings.
Ranj, it's about time you come along!

Have to admit, I'm with Mike - 7am does not sound fun!!! I will have to do it at some point; I'm running the British London 10k next Sunday - it feels like I've had more hangovers that training runs since I've been in Istanbul, so I'm not really looking forward to it.
Mike, how much factor 45 SPF would you need to run at two in the afternoon?
Jonathan, I may indeed be interested in the Tuesday/Thursday morning runs - have a half-marathon to train for in September.

Depends how long your run is; I run 10k most days at 15:30 and don't use any cream. In any case the sweat coming of would soon get rid of anything you slap on.

I think the suncream was a slight dig at me GBShane - when we play football on a Saturday I have to cream up and even then stand in the shade to avoid becoming a bright red!
