Post rugby world cup
I have tried to find out from the Digiturk website if any of their sports channels will broadcast the rugby world cup and well I really have to start Turkish classes as I couldn't find the answer - anyone else know?

Thanks

TV5, the French channel available on cable, satellite and Digiturk, is showing all the games. It's number 102, 103 or 104 on Digiturk, I think; amongst the first set of foreign channels.

thanks - checked out their site - they are only showing French matches and then the finals... which is great for my husband who is French but I'm Irish and would like to see the Irish matches.

Post ESPN- Channel 75
It looks like ESPN may be showing the games. Their schedule on Digiturk today has an 8:00pm and 11:00pm listing for Rugby World Cup (but I can't be certain- it doesn't have games listed).

I know some avid rugby supporters are going to Balans tonight to watch the first game. They are asking all rugby lovers to come along to meet the guys from Istanbul Ottomans, Kadikoy RFC and so on.

If you've got an independent satellite receiver like Goldmaster, NEXT, Technosat, Kaon etc... AND a satellite dish pointing at Hotbird, AND you're prepared to download dodgy software for your receiver from internet, then ALL the matches can be seen on French channels TF1 and Eurosport France between them, not to mention Polsat...

This link takes you to a page which shows what football is on TV on satellite today, from where there's a link to show you which rugby matches are on which channels on which satellites.

Only for techies and serious rugby fans though!

Post Eager for rugby games
Hi guys,

that may sounds like a stupid question, but where is Balans?

It sounds like a sweet place to watch Irland vs France next friday! :)

Balans is next door to the irish centre on Balo Sokak in Taksim, ...if you arrvie by Taxi then ask them to take you to red cross (Kizilay) in Tarlabasi, they need to turn right at that corner if the taxi doesnt want to turn right then just get out and walk up, its about 80 yards up on the left hand side. I think quite a few will be at the game so arrive early to get a seat.

So which fool was responsible for the Scots and the All blacks wearing such similiar strips last night? At times it was impossible to figure who was who.
