 Scousers - Deserved Reputation????
I may be stereotyping here or even just a tad too judgmental, but surely you never, ever shit on your own doorstep?

Then again, on their salaries, are they going to miss the odd Porsche?

I don't understand your post Jonny?
Who are you stereotyping - Scousers and crime? Who are you being judgemental about - footballers?

Scousers and crime. The story of theft itself only re-inforces the stereotype, but a thief operating in the area he lives (hence the term, shitting on your own doorstep) then adds further stigma, in the form of a callous nature, to the already negative opinion many people hold about Scousers. Even jokingly.
However, I may have been judgemental about the thieves as they maybe didn't have personal transport, petrol money or the bus fare to operate in another area due to some social deprivation (jobs, education, parenting - the list is endless) that I'm not aware of. Or maybe they simply don't have a night service running. Imagine. You go all the way to the 'job', fill your loot sack and then find that the number 67 stopped running at 11PM!
The comment about the footballers salaries was an aside to make light of the matter.

Jonny you're missing a major point here - what crime isn't commited by the local inhabitants of an area? Have you seen the crime statistics for the carbunkle-on-the-arse-of-the-world that is Manchester? Are you telling me that all of this crime is commited by people residing outside the city who then decide to take a trip in to shoot/stab/glass/mug each other? Hi Pot. I'm Kettle. You're black.
Besides I for one do not feel sorry for any Premiership footballer who has a few watches and his porsche nicked. He can by them all back with his next week's salary anyway.
ps. It's probably fcuking mancs doing it anyway in which case you have to hand it to the inbred fcuks - it's a great scam. If not, well it just shows how thick they are not to think of it first. Take your pick.

For what it is worth - I am clearly no expert on crime, however, I am purely talking about high publicity theft here - not violent crime. Somebody in the neighbourhood must be watching the houses to make sure the place is empty from loitering wags, even if the player is on duty elsewhere. That makes the crime very local in its origin and therefore in my book callous.
I was merely pointing out that if the image of the Scouser is to change ("Scousers - deserved reputation???") then this sort of story doesn't help, especially when some of these players have given their all for the good city of Liverpool. I'm a personal fan of the city and have visited and stayed more times than I can remember. I hope your spleen isn't too knackered after the venting you just gave it.
I'd already mentioned the affordability of replacing the cars;
"Then again, on their salaries, are they going to miss the odd Porsche?" which indicates that I don't give a fcuk either.
BTW The Liverpool man responsible also broke into an Everton players house. By my calculations, that makes him a Tranmere Rovers fan!

Spleen is indeed now vented. Has your's filled back up again after I failed to submit my footy scores last week?

I don't mind in the slightest whether an entry is in or not. What I don't like is having to nag, that's what gets my back-up. BTW have you entered the mid-week special?
