 The Prem
The Premier league (UK football) is starting soon. I propose a small game of prediction. Maybe top 3 and bottom 3 or something like that. Anyone got a better idea?

Interested in both and will enter my predictions later, CH. I think I might have a stab at predicting the whole table though.

 predictions
When I was in Sri Lanka - the local crowd of expats used to have a predictions league based on predicting the scores of the weekends prem games (plus a few fillers from other leagues when insufficient prem games were scheduled). Basically you get 3 points for the right result and 7 for the perfect score. We also chose 2 joker games each week which doubled the points. All the guys had to do was send in their predicts on a pre-formated spreadsheet with the scheduled games already filled in by Friday night and they were cut & pasted into a master predictions sheet, that everybody was sent a copy of. A running league is then sent round after the weekend. To make it more interesting - a small entry fee was charged each week with the weeks winner getting a prize. At the end of the season, the champion gets a trophy or other such meaningless effigy. If anybody is interested I have more details.

You sound like the expert Jonny, get to work and lets get this thing going. May I suggest for the "joker games" you throw in Turkish games.

Ok - I get the hints. Will put something together and start a new thread. I presume everybody has Excel?

Which cafes, pubs, etc. in Ist have got the D-Smart system ?
Now, there is this new digital TV system, D-Smart. They show many of the Champions League qualifying matches and the UEFA Cup qualifying matches...and I think they will show the UEFA Cup proper matches too and possibly some other matches.
I'd like to know if anyone here knows of any cafes, pubs, restaurants etc in Istanbul which have got this thing.
I think that FC Sheriff-Besiktas CL qualifying return match of next Wed will be shown by D-Smart so if anyone can let me know of any place before then, I will appreciate it.
Cheers,
Cem

Cem,
I don't know about D smart but you're normally quite good for figuring out which channel will be showing the Premiership matches. I've checked and found Fox Turk(?) is listed as showing them at the moment. Is this Fox Sport do you think or will be TV8 be showing them as last year?
Cheers,
Simon

No its Fox Turkey, the terrestial/cable/satellite channel that was launched recently (think orange lettering). Should be avaliable everywhere which will be good for watching games in bars.
No idea about scheduling though.

For scheduling I normally use this website:

The Charity Shield is being shown live at 5 p.m. local time.
