Watch SKY SPORTS - Rugby/Football games on the Asian side!!
Ladies and Gentlemen,
It time to combine the the worlds two greatest activities drinking and rugby! YEAHYYYYY!
For all of you rugby and football fans out there with no where to watch the games...or if you're just bloody tired of having to drag your ass all the way over to the European side--- I have a plan... but I need your support.
I have spoken to the management of The North Shield Pub at Kalamush marina about screening SKY Sports, for weekend rugby and football games. They have agreed to this arrangement but need to know that people are in fact interested. Don't forget the RUGBY WORLD CUP is 3-4 months away!
For anyone who hasn't been to the North Shield Pub, it is a large open typical English Pub, centrally located on the Asian side, directly across the street from Kalamush Marina. (No, I don't work for them I am just bloody tired of having to drag my hung-over ass all the way to the James Joyce)
What I would like to do is get together a list of about thirty people who are interested, some of you have already expressed interest. In addition for those of you who are I could use your help with a little feedback....
Anyone who is interested could you please answer the following....
a) user name and email address that I can contact you to keep you informed (if you prefer you can always private message me this info)
b) what teams are you interested in seeing play?
c) if a cover charge was necessary to keep it going, what do you think is reasonable?
d) when would you be available for a kick-off party
If you know anyone else who might be interested please pass this on.
Thanx,
H

I think it's reasonable enough that they fill their pub with paying customers. Cover charge? Are you kidding?

Good idea. However, rather than getting all regimental about it, I suggest you go with the flow. Just post a notice on the boards a few days, maybe a week, before a game, and people will turn up. Once you have an idea of numbers, you can call the Northshield's and make reservations, and confirm with them that they will be showing the game (there shouldn't be a problem).
A cover charge is, and should be, out of the question since they have no qualms of switching to a particular channel if a large enough group asks for it - especially in the afternoon. Don't let them try and rope you into turning this thing into a financial obligation on your part.

Relax about the cover charge folks...that was only a suggestion for if we couldn't get enough people together t fill the bar...and as far as being regimental if we can't show interest they simply won't do it, because it's not a matter of changing the channel it's a matter of subscribing to it, which is an extra cost on their part.
Still open for suggestions.

if someone said college football that would be killer. but i guess the season is too far away. i would be interested in all sports activities involving drinking. so its like two sports in one. drinking and watching... what a workout.
