I just found out the girls' meeting this summer is in Spain starting in Barcelona and then a weekend in Ibiza in mid-July. If anyone has great tips for hotels, restaurants and first hand experience at beach clubs/clubs in general, please don't hesitate to share. Muchas gracias amigos y amigas.

all the nice clubs are close to ibiza town. Do not make the mistake i made and stay in ibiza town.. San antonio, the city i stayed is full of 18 yo brits who wanna get drunk and mm then drink more So stick with ibiza town..

the most popular beach is also close to ibiza town (turn left while heading to airport from ibiza town, dont remember the name) .. sea is shallow and sandy.. plenty of nice people around and music.. i'm sure you will find it.

but the best beaches i have seen are on the southern tip of the island somewhere between san antonio and ibiza town.. if you rent a car, you can visit all of them.

Thanks for the Ibiza info Metink. I have been looking at a few websites that actually have decent info. I read negative posts on San Antonio citing the same reasons you wrote. I prefer to stay in Ibiza town. We also plan to rent a car so we can explore the island. We're not there to party really but we will def. go out at night and check out Pacha, Space, Cafe del Mar and a couple of other venues.

Can anybody recommend a good travel agent you've been happy with in Istanbul (IATA member preferbly) since I have to purchase my ticket from Istanbul.

Aisf, how long will you be in Barca? I was there in October and spent five days in Sitges, 40 minutes drive south of Barcelona, one of the best places I've ever been. Great night life, good hotels, great beaches and not as expensive as Barca.

I will check out Sitges. Thanks Aya, I will be in Barca for only 3 days prior to Ibiza. I have been there once before about 10 years ago. I visited the main tourist sites then. I just plan to shop a bit, sightsee and go out at night. Not so much into the beach scene in big cities but will check out the Balearic beaches in Ibiza for sure.

I'm set for Barcelona but right now I'm stressing about Ibiza accommodation (I am not going to Mallorca anymore) since the hotel rooms in and around Eivissa are quite expensive. El Hotel at Pacha charges close to 300 Euros/night and they have a 4-night minimum!

Fincas and Agroturismo accommodations are the same. I am open to staying in/around Santa Eulalia also.

I also have to rent a car and I can't fine one with automatic transmission. I'll keep on looking though. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know.

Has anybody gone to/stayed in Santa Eulalia before? Besides Jade Jagger having a home there, (and some other celebs for sure) I read that it has the highest per capita income (residents thereof, beating Madrid) in all of Spain. I don't know how true that is given that the royal family of Saudi Arabia has several sprawling estates in and around Marbella. Oh who really cares? I just want a change of pace from Eivissa town. Stanta Eulalia is also known for its hippie market.

I know this is sounding redundant but has anybody here been to Ibiza at all? I will be there in mid July (my girl friends bailed) for a week catching some sun, taking in some history (the island was inhabited by Phoenicians 5000 years ago), going to churches, dancing to great DJ sets, having leisurely time at Las Salinas, browsing the hippie markets and steering clear of the teenager party town, San Antonio except to watch the sunset at Cafe Mambo or Cafe del Mar.

Does anybody know Jade Jagger and can get me into her party at Pacha please?

you should ask Dom...he lived in Barca for a year and has played in Ibiza a few times..I am sure he can fix you up with a few contacts.

BTW Aya, I will only be in Barca from July 10-14, then Ibiza after that. I agree, I have been browsing many sites and there are tons to do in Barca, places to see. I will be with my girl friends so we will definitely make the most out of our visit there. We have already booked tables at many restaurants since it will be busy that time.

If you will stay in ibiza for a few days, you better rent a car to see the beaches and the clubs..
Umm, also go easy on tapas You will also notice american tourists are everywhere in spain. Oh one thing i remember, i hated the taste of water served in our hotel and some other brands sold around. If you feel like i did, then you can pick nestle.

Does anybody have any info on The Royal Plaza Hotel in Eivissa town? Darn, the prices in Ibiza are so high in July! I am paying Hillside Su prices for what looks like an OK regular hotel in town which is not even on the beach.
