Coffee, tea or your favorite playlist?
Yes, the skies (depending on which carrier you choose) will become friendlier soon with the launch of iPod seat connections. United, Delta and Continental hope to install them on their planes by mid-2007 so passengers can watch their own movies (you can do that now if you bring your own player), listen to their own music and charge players for FREE.

I assume they can accommodate non-iPod players like my CREATIVE ZEN MICRO (love it love it love it). And how about those car manufacturers that now have mp3 player connections as standard equipment on the stereo panel?

But will this service be offered to all and sundry, or will it be for first / business class only?

I think you'll have to look that up via their individual websites. It should be free for all.
