 direct flight from Ankara
Hi everyon,
I've heard there is a direct flight from Ankara to England. Anyone know which airline?
I'm actually trying to figure out what the best/fastest way is for me to get to Washington DC on a Thursday and be back on time for work on Monday. I can use my frequent flyer miles with Delta but the travel time is crazy long with 3 layovers... So I'm looking for creative alternatives.
Thanks in advance

Have you tried travelocity.com?
If I remember correctly you can filter by quickest trip.
With the possibilities of delays and missed connecting flights, if time were the main issue I'd fly Turkish airlines direct to New York from Istanbul and then get the Amtrak, rent a car, or have someone pick me up.
I'm guessing you're familiar on how to get to Istanbul from Ankara.

The only nonstop from Ankara to London is the Bmed (or now BMI) flight - franchised/codeshared with BA, however I do not know how well it connects with the BA Washington flight. Otherwise I wouldn;t bother with Amtrak or whatever as generally fares to Washington are almost identical to those to NY. Also you have to consider that LHR is a nightmare to transit, so a BA connection to New York might work, but then you'll be in the exact same situation as had you flown IST-JFK in the first place. Best case scenario would be one painful connection in London. Flying Delta however I do not understand how you get three connections as you would only have to connect in NY assuming you took the DL 73. THY would be similar except you'd be switching off to AA, i.e. different terminals at JFK which is a royal pain.

well, I can get to London, but from there it seems to be a hassle. I'll keep researching. Thanks for the tip!
