 Greek Island Dash
Hoping to get a 4 day break in July and so have been presented with the idea to go to a Greek Island (or 2) with my friend, her Mum and 2 kids (2.5 & 7 yrs old). Options discussed so far range from Bodrum - Kos - Kalymnos to Kuşadası - Chios or maybe Çeşme - Samos. Our aim is to make the most of the short time we have. For me that means minimum travel, good beaches, great restaurants and wine and the chance to go somewhere different. We all want to be able to relax in picturesque, safe surroundings where we can let the kids enjoy themselves without getting tutted at.
So, anyone got any experiences, suggestions or comments regarding these options? Actually, if it was left to me, we'd pop down the coast to Dalaman/Datça but the others have already been there - done that. All advice appreciated. Cheers m'dears

I recommend you "Kos"
Even though it is a small island , it's not a boring place at all.
You can look around a castle, also there is some nice sand beaches to swim.
What a great tip you can have a great pork dishes with a cheap price!!
Most of all, it is an easy of access from Bodrum - it takes around one and half hour only.
So you don't need to soothe a fretful child
Good luck!!

I would personally recommend Samos, have spent about a year altogether there and is a smaller and more friendly island than Kos, a much less touristy place and you can get to it from Çeşme and from Kuşadası. More empty beaches and little deserted coves and simple to get around. The island is also not too far from Turkey, from the south side of the island Turkey is about a mile away at the closest point.

I would recommend Ios, a nice tranquil island for peace and quiet.

I would also say Samos or kos .If you go to kos for lunch or dinner go to mummys cooking local restaurant with great real Greek food and reasonable prices. And you can have some boat trips to the other small islands.Iam envy

Mooooon. Perhaps I should have mentioned that I've already been to Kos on the visa run about 20 times - therefore not very appealing. The kids will do as they're told or be punished
Monkey. Erm, not if I can help it bugger bugger bugger
Nazan - I'll take you with me next time, without children and other responsible people to spoil the fun.
Where's Ios? Not seen that one and how do we get there Starmaster? Samos looking good at the mo....

Best place is Mikanos, but not with kids or elders... part starts 8 pm and finish 8 am!
