Post Gundogan, Bodrum
We've just come back from a wonderful week's break in Bodrum. Stayed in a really lovely little hotel in Gundogan called the Costa Farilya. Not been open long, just 25 rooms. Best thing is that it's right on the beach, great staff, big platform over the sea with loungers and umbrellas etc and at night they clear all that away and put the dinner tables there instead. Not too expensive. Liked the fact that the bay was really quiet - no cars. Probably not the best place if you want a big party, but close enough to the more frantic hotspots if you want to have a fun night out. Really good place to just chill and relax.

We also discovered a lovely little restaurant a short stroll from the hotel around the bay called Reana. It's a small family run deal - the owners apparently used to run the little town grocery store and slowly moved into becoming restauranteurs. Not 100% sure about that story because the owners don't speak English and my Turkish is dodgy at best, so one of the other customers translated for us. Really liked the decor - everything in white but kept really simple. The food was great, very good value for money, and the atmosphere is fantastic. Mom and Dad run the kitchen (with Dad doubling up as host for the evening and coming out to chat to the guests), and the kids are the waiters/waitresses. Very easy going - everyone wanders into the kitchen to choose their mezze, main course and dessert. It was so nice that we ate there 3 times!
