 How to go to IKEA
How do we go to IKEA by public transport from Taksim? Is there a direct bus, or should go to Uskudar first then take a bus/dolmus...etc
Thanks a lot

Don't know. But I was going to go there tomorrow by car (late afternoon). Could pick you up from Levent Metro. Not that I know yet how to get to IKEA by car but will figure it out before leaving.
Post me quickly if you want a lift. (Happy to take up to 3 people).

There are no direct buses from Taksim but take the Metro up to Mecidiyeköy or 1.Levent and there appear to be several buses leaving Mecidiyeköy and passing Levent on the way to Ümraniye. 122B, 122C, and 122M all pass a stop in Ümraniye called 'Tepe Üstü.' IKEA is about a 5-10 minute walk from there. It is not the kind of place where you are going to find someone to give you directions in English if you don't speak Turkish, however. I've done the trip by bus from Kadıköy & it is long, long, long. Think about how much you plan to buy and decide whether you really want to lug it all home on a bus/metro. If you plan to buy a lot & were thinking to take a taxi one way, it might make sense for you to drop 60 YTL (plus gas) for a daily car rental. There is a place in Harbiye called Miller Car Rental ( http://www.millercarrental.com/) that I've used specifically for IKEA trips after my forays there by public transport made me insane. Best of luck!

 Ikea trip
You all very sweet, thanks a lot. I managed today finally, took the bus (the bus driver showed us where to stop) , long trip then continue with taxi for another YTL 10. But it was nice, especially the sweedish meatball and ice cream
Have fun, and really thanks a lot.

Not together in a sandwich, I hope...
I think I might be late to the party that is this thread. Oh well, Nevermind. I shall sleep in the coal bunker.
