 Morocco
Thinking of possibly going to Morocco for a week in the spring. Has anyone been there, any recommendations one where to go and stuff? Was thinking of a few days in Marrakech and a few in Fez.

Love the country but don't go too far north as you'll be bored. Do try and get into the mountains (hire a car). Berber land.
Fez is a great place. Very different from more touristy places. You can hang out in the medina (there's a great restaurant just by the main entrance where you can get fabulous food in your old tangine), climb up through the shops and watch the dyers at work (and enjoy the whiff of leather) or wander around and have a little bargain (people don't over-bargain, bit annoying anywhere in the world).
Driving round Fez after 9pm is like driving round a graveyard - dead!
I stayed up on the hill overlooking the medina - Four Seasons?Hilton?Meridien - can't remember which. You get great views and can easily cut them down on their prices.
Learn a bit of Arabic (e.g. numbers) or just say the regular Islamic greetings and you'll be welcomed!
Enjoy!
