Post Renting a holiday villa in Turkey
Hello folks,
Partick 0 & I & the kids are wanting to spend a few weeks in the summer at a villa on the coast somewhere, so friends can visit us from elsewhere in Europe. 8) Have visited numerous websites (mainly from UK), and most of the villas seem to be in Kalkan, Kas, or OluDeniz, near Fetiye. Our perfect holiday is sea views, quiet self contained villa, my own pool, but only a few miles from action and night life. Not really interested in Riviera-like beaches which are packed like sardine tins with people and sunbeds. Partick 0 wants a golf course nearby  but not compulsory!
We would appreciate any advice from those of you who have visited any of these places, so we know what to expect. Would love some close access to a quiet sandy beach.

Cheers

I lived in Dalyan for a year, close to Fehtiye. Lovely place, two great beaches just a short boat ride away... good nightlife and cheap villas'. If you want any details about prices, PM me and i'll get in touch with one of my friends there! No golf course though!

try Turkeyvilla.com, I know the owner very well and her name is Terry and Chelseaboy and BigBri can vouch for her too. I dont have her email with me at present as I am still in the UK but will forward it to you next week. She has villas for rent all along the coast and also she said she may give a discount to EIT members too.

Just spoke to Terry and her other half does the rentals side. They have places between Izmir and upto Antalya. The email for this is john@turkeyvilla.com.

There are some nice sandy beaches (sand not pebbles as in Oludeniz and Konyaalti/Antalya) in Cesme - Ilica, Alacati but I have no info on holiday homes for rent there. Most homes are holiday homes of Turkish folks but you may want to check with other expats for villa inquiries in that area. I was in Kas for a few days in the summer of 2004. There are no sandy beaches in the immediate area - you dive off the jetty to the sea and the sea can be very choppy. Kalkan has many holiday villas that I saw online too but when I passsed through there on the way to Antalya, they seemed way smaller than they appeared in the photographs. Most of them have pools and they ook out to the sea but the lots are smaller than I thought. It looks like a charming town but the nightlife is in Kas which is not that far of a drive from there.
