 Rome, Barcelona and Paris
Me and a friend had this planned for a while now and we're going to Rome, Barcelona and Paris in november.
I just need some advice on where to go and what to see (apart from the standard things)
also, if you know some decent/clean hotels that would be perfect.

The Majestic in Barcelona, I can recommend, but I was only there for 3 days, and didn't see much - but be near port for nightlife!
Ex-jockey club in Paris, can't remember the name, opposite the Intercontinental, which is also nice on the Avenue D'opera. Nice location!
Not been to Rome! Had paid for my trip in September, but am too busy to go.

Barcelona: Hotel Acevi Villaroel on Dreta de Eixample. 100 Euros. It's on Villaroel near Avenue de Roma within a few blocks of La Ramble and Passeig de Gracia.
or you can try 1898, Hotel Omm (has a very cool bar and restaurant called Moo) or another design hotel I like, Pulitzer.
Rome: Hotel Hassler comes to mind but I think it's very upmarket
Paris: Hotsl Costes, Intercontinental

If you know anything to do in any of those cities i would appreciate it alot.
the standard "let's see the eiffel tower" will be done, I'm just wondering about some "hidden treasures"

for paris - i have stayed in this hotel a few times - its in the latin quarter
http://www.hotelclunysquare.com/
its really clean, nice breakfast, right outside is the tube station, and 4-5 min walk from the high court which has the marie antoinette chapel inside. a few mins walk to notre dame, and just on the street behind the seine, facing the chatelet district
its a 3 star hotel, rooms arent huge, but has a bed, phone, private bathroom and very central
cant help u out with the tourist attractions - I was only there to attend the high court for my sisters murder trial in feb of this year.

I know a great curry house in Paris! Isn't there a poo museum in Paris? Where you walk over sewers of excrement? (Those crazy French!)
These are famous places:
Pompidou
http://www.centrepompidou.fr/Pompidou/A ... l?OpenForm ..............for the view!
If you spend less than 10 minutes at each piece, you risk getting told off!
Le Lapin Agile

Rodin

Dont' miss Hotel Costes for drinks. Say hi to the DJ, David de Barce for me. Also, don't miss drinks at George, the bar/restaurant above the Pompidou. See Charly's list above.
How about the thousands of skulls under Paris' streets? Visiting the catacombs was quite eerie and hair-raising....

I always book my European hotels through either of these websites: http://www.venere.com or http://www.hotelclub.com
Favourite places in Paris: Chateau Versailles (Louis XIV's palace), Musee d'Orsay (art from 19th century), the free view from the roof of the department store Samaritain (sp?), bookstores near the Sorbonne.
Barcelona: Was last there in 1992 - loved Las Ramblas (big boulevard with cafes and shops), drinking sangria in the afternoon and the siesta time!
Rome: St. Peter's Basilica (go on Wednesday and you might hear the Pope from his balcony), Trastevere (same side of the river as the Vatican) - great place for lunch and a glass of wine, the Roman Forum (ancient ruins right in the heart of the city), but especially walk everywhere and you'll find a treasure around every corner. My favourite city in the world - have fun!

In regards to Barcelona I can recommend an excellent cheap but great quality restaurant on the Placa Reial called La Chitz Nitz (I think). I don't think it is open until 8pm in the evening and then there are queues for the place. Show up at 9:30 and most of the tourists have finished their dinner and then you can walk straight in (pretty much). As I said, the food is great, sangria is brilliant and it won't hurt your budget. The square itself is just off Las Ramblas and fills up later in the evening with lots of young people. Some pictures of the square can be found here: http://www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com/ ... index.html

I was in Barcelona last week, stayed in a hotel (Arc La Rambla, to get a decent room room you need to book a superior) right on Las Ramblas, at the bottom and almost out side the metro. I Use this website to find hotels when travelling in Spain ( http://www.bookings.es), I found good hotels in Madrid and Andorra as well with this site.
If you are interested in Architecture then you should try and visit one of the Gaudi buildings.
A couple of important tips. Don't ask for a large beer at one of the street restaurants on Las Ramblas. You get 1.5 or 2 litres but it costs 20+euros. Beware of pickpockets and people trying to get you to play games for money.
I can't offer any secret places but suggest that in the evenings you walk through the Gothic district (just off Las Ramblas) as there are many bars in the small streets.
