In Santorini, we liked the Pelican Bar/Cafe in Oia for sundowners, as their little terrace is very well positioned to catch even the last rays. But, there are plenty of other little cafe's around with similar views. Worth taking a walk right to the end of Oia where there is a tiny bookshop down some stairs and hollowed into the rock. Not much in the way of books, unfortunately, but worth it for the view and just for stumbling across something so unexpected.

For swimming, we liked the Black Beach. The Black Beach is a long beach with deck chairs, umbrellas and plenty of restaurants for food and drink. Last time we were there it was quite busy, so we went all the way down on the end (right hand side, near the big rock) where it was a bit better. The water was unbelievably clear and it's quite something to swim there as the sand is volcanic and (as it says on the tin) black :) Avoid the Red Beach. It's a mission to get there, you have to clamber over some rocks and it's tiny. Not worth the hype at all.

Have a great holiday, Mystery!

Definitely go to Oia for a late lunch. Go way below right to the tavernas by the sea that serve the fresh catch of the day. Then hike back up to watch the sunset among the windmills. There are many bars and spots in Fira for dining and drinking. Watch your step after a few shots of ouzo. There are many stairs to climb/go down to all over the island. Thus flat shoes are recommended. Renting a moped is also fun and what every tourist must do. Eat where the locals go and you're bound to get good, fresh food that are fairly priced.

Visit the archaeological sites too and vantage points to see the caldera at sunset (the most romantic spot is from Oia or eee-yah) but you can also see it from Fira/Thira or another village whose name I can't remember now. I had a motorcycle mishap there so I should remember it...but I don't.

I also shopped for beaten gold jewelry and some miniature 'Greek villages' handmade and handpainted by local craftsmen.

Most of all, have fun canim!

Did those islands last september. Loved them all, although Santorini was my favourite. Hope you've got a load of cash stashed away because food is pretty expensive, particularly in Mykonos. No real advice from me, but have a fantastic time.
