Sorry for the last second panic but we have been let down by our normally great insurance guy..Do any of you know a number for a travel insurance company? we need cover for 1 month in Thailand (not just health but bags, cameras etc) got quoted a silly 120€ each by our guy!!! ouch!
We are going tomorrow so need this sorted asap..any help you guys can would be great

I'm not sure if Europeiske (a world wide travel insurance) can help you, but they have a 'call centre' here in Istanbul, since 1999.

she speaks 3 languages, most likely a perfect turkish too.

Not sure if Europeiske can give you insurance, but they should know other companies dealing with travel insurance here in Turkey.

I'v used them for years (pay less than 100 euro/year member, incl as many travel as you like up to 5 week/travel). Insurance for extra 2 week was one call and a smal fee extra.

Hope Europeiske or the person at their office here in Istanbul are able to help you.

thanks for the contact but they only help those insured by the company abroad..they dont provide cover.
Its looking like no one in Turkey provides normal travel insurance, it's so stupid They only give health insurance cover..nothing for flight cancellations or lost or stolen bags..and even the health cover is much higher priced than I am used to..have paid about £70 for a years policy before. not too chuffed about this

I thought it was a scandinavian company, found out now that it is a norwegian and that 1/3 of our population use them.
Their insurance covers everything, I'm even covered as soon as I cross my city border, you can buy new stuff if luggage is lost more than 6 hours, canceled flight, even missed flights if smth unfortunate happens while on the way to the airport etc etc

If I use my credit card/VISA to pay more than 50% of my travel costs (flight/gas for car & hotel/accomodation) I'm also insured during my vacation That insurance is ok, but not as brilliant as the Europeiske.
Credit card even insure you and up to 3 friends travelling with you (atleast American Express had that 'deal' a few years ago).

Maybe there are some kind of travel isurance included in your credit card?
