Post Visa run- beach, swimming and sun?
I have to leave the country next weekend to replentish my tourist visa.

I need a total break so my only specifications are sun, nice food, sandy beaches (preferably desolate), and swimming in warm waters. It will be a long weekend so I do not wish to travel too far.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to where I should go? So far I have only come up with Sardinia.

Couldn't agree more. Head for Girne (we stayed at the Hideaway Hotel - 100% recommended) but avoid the Casino hotels. There's a great village up in the hills behind the town called Karmi that is almost exclusively populated by foreigners (think artists commune) that has a village pub run by two batty old English women (one a raging alcoholic). Great fun on a Sunday afternoon.

It's a strange place an almost more England than Turkey.

Tunisia. Turkish Airlines often has them on their 111's of the week (roundtrip for 111 euro). No visa needed to enter (not even for Turks). Instead of swimming and sun, go for a trekking/bedouin tour!

Yes, please do tell us where in Turkey he can go for a visa run.
Alternatively:
Yes, please do tell us how and where he has to enter in -the- Turkey for a visa run.

Don't worry 'breakfast', that was RSA on one of his nice days. You should hear him when he is angry.

JC,
Sardinia is a bit silly at this time of the year. I think Northern Africa (direct flights to Algier from Ataturk) is your best bet. But don't forget the running shoes, you know whats on the programme, right!

That means you, international marathoners are going all together?

JC. As burbaco mentioned, Tunisa can be a safe and good choice.
These days there are a lot of cheap package (hotel + airline ) .

If you ignore the "swimming in warm waters" part, go to one of the Baltic countries. Cheap flights with Air Baltic, beautiful cities to explore, fine food and drinks. They do have sandy beaches you can stroll down.
