Still cool, Istanbul, or Ankara, or Ottoman Empire, or when or wherever.

Deceivinganillusion, can I ask, as I found this today on EiT: Do you live in Canada?

Post History is as history does
Perhaps I am a trifle simple minded. But it seems to me as though we are forgetting that all written history is mainly individual's perceptions of what happened. Sometimes even the so-called "facts are skewed -- this date or that date, how many, how much, where and why?

Again, perhaps I am a trife simple minded. But it seems to me that rehashing the past (however based on a mulitude of sources) does very little for living in the present and thinking a tiny bit about the future.

So much for my two cents.

verjen,

I second that. Excellent reminder of this often conveniently forgotten fact.
