I was on a ferry today and there were a group of 'youngsters' on the top deck along with the rest of us who preferred the risk of sunstroke to sea sickness. They were drinking beer and eating some kind of nuts. Nothing too unusual about that until they went around offering what I discovered were freshly roasted almonds to everyone - twice. Nil pointe however, to the French bitch sitting in front of me who - despite being told 3 times by her husband (I assume) not to - kept throwing her peelings which flew straight back up into my face. Then her hat blew off into the sea. How we laughed.....

That was very hospitable of the Turkish wind. I went to Belgrad forest Saturday and around the lake (which is not existent right now, anyways) and noticed there is no garbage lying around, which I found very positive.

The local forestry management go out once a month or so, to collect the rubbish left by those who enjoy the open air. They collect around three tons each time. You must have seen it just after the recent clean up.

I noticed they have put signs up now pleading with magandars not to throw their rubbish by the side of the road. The Bahcekoy-Kemerburgaz road is even more shocking. Rubbish everywhere, barbecue remainders bringing animal interest and condoms from the Maslak hookers.
